I came across the Starter Coin on Facebook and thought it was worth looking into. I'm a bit of a sucker for innovative ideas and the Starter Coin is exactly that.

What Does it Do?
When you're on the first tee with your foursome (or prior to the first tee) and need to decide who is teeing off first, you have a few options. The most common is probably flipping a tee a few times and whoever it lands on will tee off in that order. Another way is to toss all four golf balls blindly over your shoulder and the golf balls furthest away, tee off first. This is also a good way to determine teams.
The Starter Coin simplifies the process. The Coin is labeled with four markings: "Honors, 2nd, 3rd, Last". Simply have your foursome gather around, flip the coin and your order to tee off is set. It's that easy and much quicker than the other options.

As you can see from the picture above, the center of the Starter Coin is a ball marker which has a clever phrase on it. I went with the ever famous line "Your Honor, Your Honor" from the movie Caddyshack. They have seven different phrases for you to choose from. Overall
If you're looking for something to change your golf swing or help you with your chipping, you have come to the wrong place. The Starter Coin is a fun idea to help make the selection process of who tee's off first as easy as flipping a coin.
The coin is bigger and heavier than I expected. Initially thinking I was getting something the size of a quarter, I was pleasantly surprised by the size (closer to a half dollar) and the weight of it. There is no question this coin is durable.
As someone commented on my Facebook page after posting a picture of the Starter Coin, it would be a great stocking stuffer. It's reasonably priced ($12), small and most golf addicts enthusiasts would get a kick out of it while finding it useful.

Seriously, I want one of these. We always flip a tee and whoever the tee points to, is up first. And then we have to flip it twice more to see second and third. This get's us teeing-off faster!

The golf balls are in various degrees of hardness, and with different types of coverage that can be turned more or less. The harder the ball more general travel, but harder to spin to get because of their lack of understanding from the clubhead at impact. Beginners usually find golf balls are best for them to travel farther, while professionals prefer a ball with a greater degree of compression that gives more spin, and therefore will be easier for a better flight control and after landing.
