Is this the greatest invention in golf history? Absolutely not but it's pretty awesome. I won this bag in a tournament last week and have been itching to write about it since then. I have heard about it and saw it online, but I never thought I would one day have one.

The Bag
The main reason I never thought I would have this bag is because it's a cart bag. If you have read my previous posts, I walk frequently and I need a bag to make that as easy as possible. This bag has the one shoulder strap and no "legs" to keep it standing upright when it is set down. If on a flat surface (like my living room floor in the picture above) it can stand just fine. It's perfect for a cart.
The bag has 5 pockets that zip including the cooler and a few smaller pockets not protected by zippers. It has a place to hold your umbrella (something I think all bags should have), slots to hold six tees and one ring to hold a towel or whatever else you want to add to it.
The part that holds the clubs is interesting. This particular bag has 14 slots, one for each club. This might help a few guys who have played in events with that one extra club and had to give back strokes (playing with extra clubs is a 2-stroke penalty per hole). I'm torn on the setup but maybe it's because I've never had it. My bag, and previous bags, have had 6-8 slots for all the clubs. I then arrange them accordingly.

The Cooler
I'm no cooler expert but my guess is this cooler can hold up 15 cans of whatever you want to keep cold. The cooler is almost the full length of the bag and is located on the right side. How good is it? It's comes fully lined (the lining is removable!) and has a few holes at the bottom for drainage. Yes, they thought of just about everything. Add ice, beer (or your beverage of choice) and get out on the course.

When to Use this Bag?
I was excited when I saw this prize at the table because I need a new bag. Unfortunately, it's not stand bag so it doesn't do me much good. I figured I would give it away and then it dawned on me. I have my annual golf trip next week. Although I'm not a big drinker on the course, the guys I play with would kill me if I gave away a bag that could carry 12-15 cold ones. It is the perfect bag for golf trips.
Another trend I see is golfing for bachelor parties. This would work out perfectly when taking your buddy out for his last round as a bachelor. When we recently did this our carts had coolers stuffed in them. This is much more convenient. My decision on what to do with this became simple, I will keep it and use (or loan out) as needed.
What: Golf Bag with Cooler Pocket
Brand: Callaway Cart Bag
Cost: $159 is what's on my price tag but I bet there are some cheaper
Where to Buy: If you know where to buy these leave a comment! Thanks.

I have a cart bag that carries an entire 12-pack with enough room for ice packs. There's nothing like a few cold ones near the 9th hole!

Wow, that's a pretty good idea. A bag that can hold your golf clubs along with your beer! That's genius actually.

golf bags are the number one must accessory. The market is full of golf bags that are lightweight, extremely lightweight, stand bags, cart bags and offer a luxury a bit more. Try not to be overwhelmed when choosing a golf bag.
